Overview

The Vimar Protected & Watertight series 2-module IP55 cover plate with claws is a 2-module protective cover for Eikon and Plana devices, made for ø 60 mm flush mounting boxes and rated IP55 against dust and water spray. It is a practical fit where a standard indoor faceplate is not enough and the front of the installation needs better protection from splash, washdown, or damp air.

This cover plate is built in plastic with full insulating materials and uses claw fixing for installation. On board, that makes it relevant for switch points and controls set into bulkheads or panels where the face may be exposed more often than a cabin-only installation.

Variants

This cover plate is offered in three colour configurations.

What changes between variants is the finish. The 2-module layout, claw fixing, IP55 protection, and compatibility with Eikon and Plana series on ø 60 mm flush boxes stay the same across the range.

• VM14931.14, granite grey. A darker finish that sits well with modern helm panels, utility spaces, and darker trim.
• VM14931, RAL 7035 grey. A neutral grey finish that matches many technical panels and standard enclosure colours.
• VM14931.01, white. A lighter finish that blends more easily with white liners, cabin mouldings, and light interior joinery.

Compatibility and fit

This cover plate is meant for 2-module layouts only, so it should be matched to the correct Eikon or Plana insert arrangement before installation. The flush box size also matters here, as the plate is made for ø 60 mm mounting boxes.

For refit work, it is worth checking the mounting position and the surrounding panel depth before closing the assembly. That helps avoid interference around the claws and keeps the finished face sitting properly against the surface.

Use on board

This is a sensible choice for switching points near cockpit entries, service areas, deck lockers, or other positions where the faceplate may see spray or regular cleaning. It also works well when you want a protected front on a boat without changing the overall look of the Vimar switch range already used elsewhere on board.
