With an IP40 rating, it belongs in protected interior locations such as cabins, saloon panels, or sheltered helm consoles rather than areas exposed to spray or washdowns.

The switch uses screw terminals, which makes it straightforward to terminate solid or stranded conductors when the correct ferrules and strip lengths are used. As with any onboard AC switching, isolate the circuit, verify zero voltage, and follow marine electrical best practices for conductor sizing, protection, and routing.

This device is rated for 250 V AC and 10AX loads, so it should be matched to the circuit voltage and the connected load type. After commissioning, it is worth re-checking terminal tightness during routine panel inspections, especially on boats that see frequent pounding.
