Overview

The Vimar 8000 Series is a family of 1P 10 AX 1-way key-operated switches for 250 V~ circuits, built for flush mounting in protected interior installations. It supports self-ballasted lamps up to 100 W and uses screw terminals, which makes it relevant for controlled switching points where casual operation needs to be limited.

On board, this range fits enclosed cabins, service spaces, and other interior panels where a keyed switch makes sense and direct water exposure is not expected. The IP40 housing, halogen-free thermoplastic body, matt beige finish in RAL 9001, and 33.5 mm built-in depth suit modular installations that need a clean flush-mounted look.

Variants

This range is offered in three key formats. The switch body stays within the same 8000 Series platform, so the main difference between versions is how the key is handled in daily use.

Across the listed versions, the electrical rating, flush-mounted format, screw-terminal connection, IP40 protection, and beige halogen-free thermoplastic body remain the same. What changes is the key type.

• VM08380.S: Key type Key In Off. The key can be removed only when the switch is in the OFF position, which suits circuits that should return to a locked-off state when not in use.
• VM08380.CU: Key type Unified Key. This version uses the unified key format while keeping the same switch body and electrical rating.
• VM08380: Key type Standard. This is the standard keyed version of the same 1-way switch platform.

Compatibility and fit

This switch belongs to the Vimar 8000 modular range, so fit should be checked against the matching support, frame, and cover arrangement already used in the panel. The published rating is 250 V~, which places it in AC switching work and not as a general replacement for a 12V or 24V DC switch without checking the circuit design and ratings first.

Use on board

This range is a good match for boats that need a keyed AC switch in a protected interior spot, such as a cabin lighting point, a service compartment, or a restricted-use control panel. It also makes sense in refit work where the vessel already uses Vimar 8000 modules and the goal is to keep the panel layout consistent.
