Overview
The Vimar VMV71720 is a 12 to 14-module flush-mount box for hollow walls that lets you recess Vimar modular devices into lightweight panels and liners on board. The box measures 199.3 mm wide by 142.8 mm long, with 50 mm internal depth and an overall depth range of 0 to 70 mm. Protection is IP00, so it is meant to sit behind a finished plate and in a protected, interior location.
Cutouts are made with a 68 mm hole saw, and the integrated centring plate helps keep the openings aligned during layout. Metal fins clamp the box securely to wall thicknesses from 1 to 38 mm, and the built-in breakouts handle common conduit runs (16, 20, or 25 mm) with 10 inlets for cable entry. The body is halogen-free plastic with a GW 850 C rating.

Compatibility and fit
This box is intended for hollow wall builds where the panel is a liner or lightweight bulkhead and the rear side is accessible during installation. Confirm the module count (12 or 14) of the devices and frames you are installing, and check that you have enough clearance behind the panel for the box depth and cable bend radius.
Installation and onboard use notes
Plan conduit and cable routes before cutting, then use the breakouts that best match your entry direction to keep wiring tidy behind the finished plate. On boats, it is typically used in dry interior zones such as cabins, salons, nav stations, and inside protected lockers where you want multiple controls or outlets grouped in one place.
Because the enclosure is IP00, avoid exposed locations that see washdown, spray, or condensation drip paths. If the space can get damp, route cables to prevent water tracking into the opening and keep terminations protected according to the requirements of your electrical installation.
