Overview
The Vimar Mille Series is a range of 2P+E 16 A Italian axial plugs for portable 250 V~ AC connections where an S17 format is required. These plugs use a straight cable entry, a screw terminal connection, and an IP20 thermoplastic body, so they are suited to dry interior spaces rather than exposed deck locations.
On board, this type of plug fits boats that use Italian-pattern AC outlets in the cabin, galley, or other sheltered utility areas. It is a portable plug with protective earth contact, not a sealed shore-power connector, so it is intended for enclosed spaces and portable equipment leads rather than washdown zones or open cockpits.
Key features
- Italian S17 2P+E plug format for 16 A, 250 V~ AC circuits
- Straight axial cable entry keeps the cable aligned with the plug body on portable leads
- Screw terminal connection for secure conductor termination
- Thermoplastic body with protective earth contact
- IP20 protection for dry, sheltered onboard locations
- Available in black and white with the same core electrical format across both variants
Variants
This product is offered in two colour configurations.
Across both versions, the electrical format stays the same: Italian S17, 2P+E, 16 A, 250 V~, axial cable entry, screw terminals, thermoplastic construction, and IP20 protection. The visible difference between the variants is the housing colour.
- VM01026: Black. This finish works well with darker leads, darker fittings, and utility spaces where a low-contrast look is preferred.
- VM01026.B: White. This finish suits lighter interiors and installations where a white plug is a closer visual match to surrounding fittings.
Compatibility and fit
This plug is for AC systems that use the Italian S17 pattern. Check the mating socket before ordering, especially on boats that mix Italian, Schuko, or IEC connection standards, because the plug and outlet pattern must match. It is for 250 V~ AC service and is not intended for 12 V or 24 V DC circuits.
The IP20 rating matters on a boat. This plug belongs in cabins, enclosed lockers, and other protected spaces where the connection stays dry during normal use. It is not the right match for exposed deck fittings, wet lockers, or any location that sees spray or regular washdowns.
Installation and use on board
The straight body keeps the cable exiting in line with the plug, which can help on portable leads that run directly down from the socket without a tight bend at the entry point. The screw terminal layout is straightforward for replacing a damaged plug end or assembling a new lead with the correct conductor preparation and strain relief.
This range suits owners, electricians, and refit yards replacing an Italian-pattern plug in a protected onboard AC circuit. It also fits portable service leads and appliance cords used inside the boat where the connection remains sheltered.
