Overview
The Garmin LiveScope XR LVS62 is a live-scanning sonar transducer that pairs with a LiveScope GLS 10 sonar module to show real-time sonar on a compatible Garmin chartplotter.
It is built for coastal and open-water fishing where you want to watch fish and structure farther from the boat. Forward and Down views reach up to 500 ft in freshwater and up to 350 ft in saltwater, and the transducer is rated IPX7 for wet cockpit and bow-mount conditions.
The LVS62 runs from 265 to 550 kHz with a 20° x 135° beamwidth and a 20 ft cable (21-pin). In practical use, that wide coverage helps you keep track of moving targets while you work a point, a ledge, or suspended fish out in open water.
Key features
- LiveScope Forward, Down, and Perspective views for scanning ahead, below, or in an overhead-style orientation.
- Extended live sonar reach up to 500 ft in freshwater and up to 350 ft in saltwater (Forward/Down).
- 265 to 550 kHz operating range with a 20° x 135° beam pattern.
- IPX7 water rating for exposed mounting locations that see spray, rain, and washdowns.
- 20 ft transducer cable with a 21-pin connection to the GLS 10 sonar module.
- Reverse Range Offset and Compress Range help keep near-boat detail visible while still watching farther targets on the same screen.
- Stabilization keeps the sonar view steadier on the display when the boat is rocking in chop.
Variants
LiveScope XR LVS62 is offered as a transducer-only package or as a full system bundle.
The difference between the variants is whether a GLS 10 sonar module is included. The LVS62 transducer and its sonar views remain the same.
- 010-02719-10: Sonar module not included. This configuration is intended for replacing an existing LiveScope transducer on a boat that already has a GLS 10 module installed.
- 010-02719-00: Sonar module included. This configuration includes the GLS 10 live sonar module along with the LVS62 transducer for a complete install.
Compatibility and fit
This transducer is used with a LiveScope GLS 10 sonar module, which then connects to a compatible Garmin chartplotter over Garmin Marine Network. If your display uses a different network connector style, plan on the appropriate adapter cable so the GLS 10 can join your existing network.
For mount planning and clearance, the transducer body measures 8.20 x 3.98 x 2.76 in. and the cable run is 20 ft. Leave enough slack for full steering travel if the transducer is mounted on a trolling motor, and route the cable where it will not be pinched by brackets or stowed gear.
Installation and setup
The LVS62 supports common LiveScope mounting orientations for Forward and Down views and can also be installed in a Perspective-style orientation for shallow-water scanning. Take a minute to align the transducer square to the shaft and tighten hardware evenly so the image does not shift after a few trips.
If you are installing the GLS 10 module as part of the system, mount it in a dry, ventilated location with easy access to the network and power connections. The module is powered from 10 to 32 VDC and is typically protected with a 7.5 A fuse, so it fits both 12V and 24V boat systems with standard marine wiring practices.
Use on board
This setup is a good match for anglers who fish open water, deep structure, or suspended schools and want to react in real time rather than waiting for a traditional scroll to update. It is also useful when you are holding on a spot in current and need to see how fish move around the boat between casts.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater trips, rinse the transducer and mounting hardware with fresh water and check that the cable jacket has not been scuffed where it passes clamps or through rigging channels. Periodically re-check mounting fasteners for tightness, especially on trolling motors that see vibration and repeated stow cycles.
