Overview
This Attwood Marine rubber bow roller is a trailer-mounted bow support made from molded rubber for cushioning the boat’s bow during loading, retrieval, and road transport. The range includes 3 in. and 4 in. lengths, with outside diameters of 3 in. and 3-1/2 in., and both versions fit a 1/2 in. roller shaft.
It works at the bow stop area of a boat trailer, where the hull needs guided contact instead of bare metal contact. The rubber body helps the bow settle into position as the boat comes onto the trailer, while the non-marring prime rubber compound helps protect the hull finish during normal trailering use.
Key features
- Molded rubber bow roller for supporting and cushioning the boat’s bow on a trailer.
- Non-marring prime rubber compound helps reduce scuffs where the bow contacts the roller.
- Compatible with trailer brackets that use a 1/2 in. roller shaft.
- Available in two size configurations to match common bow stop setups.
- Useful for launch ramps, retrieval, centering, and road transport where the bow roller takes repeated contact.
Variants
This rubber bow roller is offered in two configurations for different trailer bow stop sizes.
The length and outside diameter vary by variant. Both listed variants use a 1/2 in. shaft diameter, so the key fit check is the roller width and the available space in the trailer bracket.
- 11209-1: Length 4 in., outside diameter 3-1/2 in., shaft diameter 1/2 in. This size suits bow stop brackets that need a wider roller and a larger outside diameter for hull contact.
- 11205-1: Length 3 in., outside diameter 3 in., shaft diameter 1/2 in. This size fits a narrower bow stop position while keeping the same shaft diameter requirement.
Compatibility and fit
Before ordering, measure the existing roller length, outside diameter, and shaft diameter on the trailer. The shaft must be 1/2 in., and the bracket opening should match the selected roller length without forcing the rubber against the bracket sides.
This is a mechanical trailer part with no electrical or marine network requirements. It is a practical replacement when the existing bow roller is worn, flattened, cracked, or leaving marks where the bow meets the trailer stop.
Use on board and at the ramp
This roller is a good match for trailer boats that are launched and retrieved regularly, including fishing boats, runabouts, and small cruising boats. At the ramp, it helps guide the bow into the stop area, which can make centering more controlled when wind, current, or ramp angle make retrieval less forgiving.
Check the roller during routine trailer inspections, especially after long road trips or repeated saltwater launches. Rinse the trailer hardware after saltwater use and replace the roller when the rubber no longer turns freely or no longer supports the bow evenly.
