Overview
This Attwood Marine rubber bow stop is a molded Y-stop for the trailer bow post, built to support the boat at the bow while it sits on the trailer. It helps cushion the contact point during loading, retrieval, and road travel, reducing direct hull contact with the trailer hardware.
The range includes 2" x 2", 3" x 3", and 4" x 4" sizes, with pre-drilled hole I.D. options of 3/8" and 1/2" to match common bow stop mounting shafts. The black rubber body gives the bow a firm resting point without adding a hard metal contact surface at the stem.
Key features
- Molded rubber Y-stop for supporting the boat bow at the trailer stop pylon.
- Pre-drilled mounting hole helps keep installation straightforward and aligned on the trailer shaft.
- Available in three sizes, covering compact replacements and larger bow support needs.
- Helps with centering the boat during retrieval when used with a properly adjusted trailer winch post.
- Useful as a replacement for worn rubber bow stops on boat trailers used for ramp launching, storage, and towing.
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations so the bow stop can be matched to the trailer shaft and the amount of bow support needed.
The dimensions and mounting hole I.D. vary between variants. The rubber Y-stop form and trailer bow stop function remain consistent across the listed options.
- 11200-1: 2" x 2" with 3/8" hole I.D. This smaller bow stop suits trailer setups that use a 3/8" mounting shaft and need a compact contact point at the bow post.
- 11201-1: 3" x 3" with 1/2" hole I.D. This mid-size option adds more rubber contact area while fitting a 1/2" mounting shaft.
- 11202-1: 4" x 4" with 1/2" hole I.D. This larger bow stop gives a broader rubber contact point for trailers that use a 1/2" mounting shaft.
Installation and fit
Before ordering, match both the bow stop dimensions and the hole I.D. to the trailer’s existing bow stop shaft or bolt. A worn stop should be replaced when the rubber is cracked, flattened, loose on the shaft, or no longer holding the bow in the correct position against the winch post.
During installation, the stop should sit squarely against the bow when the boat is fully loaded on the trailer. Proper winch post adjustment matters, since the bow stop works with the winch strap and trailer geometry to keep the boat positioned during transport.
Use cases on board
This is a practical trailer maintenance part for trailerable fishing boats, runabouts, pontoons, and small cruisers that are launched and retrieved at ramps. It is especially relevant for owners replacing a worn rubber bow stop before a towing season, a long road trip, or regular dock-to-ramp use.
