Overview
The Attwood Marine 11882-1 is a 5" groove rib roller for automatic adjusting roller systems on boat trailers. This yellow replacement roller measures 5" in diameter and 3" wide, and it uses a nylon insert at the center bore. It is used where the trailer roller needs to guide and support the hull during loading, centering, and retrieval.
This is the kind of trailer part you replace when the old roller is worn flat, cracked, or no longer turns cleanly on the shaft. Before ordering, match the roller style, outside dimensions, bore or shaft size, and bracket spacing on your current trailer setup so it drops into the same position without changing the rest of the assembly.
Key features
- 5" diameter x 3" width roller size for trailer setups built around this profile
- Groove rib shape for automatic adjusting roller systems
- Yellow roller body that is easy to match against an existing trailer setup
- Nylon insert at the center bore
- Replacement roller for hull support and guidance during launch and recovery
Compatibility and fit
This roller is meant for trailer hardware that uses a groove rib roller rather than a smooth bow roller or a straight keel roller. The main fit checks are the roller diameter, width, bore or shaft size, and the way the current brackets hold the roller in place.
It is a solid match for owners replacing one worn roller at a time and for trailer refurbishments where the original Attwood size and shape need to be matched closely. On multi-roller trailers, keeping the same profile across the contact points helps the hull sit and track the way the trailer was set up to carry it.
Installation and use
When replacing the roller, inspect the shaft, retaining hardware, and brackets at the same time. A new roller will not track well if it is fitted onto a bent shaft or into brackets that are worn or out of alignment.
For trailers that are backed into saltwater, rinse the roller assembly after use and check that the roller still spins freely before the next trip. That simple maintenance step helps reduce binding at the hull contact point and makes retrieval smoother at the ramp.
