Overview
The Vimar VM13033 is a surface-mount IP40 enclosure for housing 3 Vimar Idea modules or 3 Vimar 8000 special modules. It comes in RAL 7035 grey and uses a plastic body with an overall size of 10 x 9.3 x 5.6 cm.
This box is meant for locations on board where you want a clean, surface-mounted installation without cutting a recess into the panel. IP40 is suited to protected interior areas and it is not a watertight enclosure, so it should be kept away from direct spray, cockpit washdowns, and exposed deck positions.
It is supplied with adaptors that support installation of 8000 standard modules, which is useful when you are mixing module types within the same Vimar ecosystem.
Key features
- Surface enclosure format for mounting on a bulkhead, liner, or interior panel when flush mounting is not practical.
- 3-module capacity for Vimar Idea modules or Vimar 8000 special modules.
- IP40 protection level for protected interior spaces, with no water-jet or spray sealing.
- RAL 7035 grey finish to match common Idea and 8000 installations.
- Plastic construction that will not corrode in damp cabins and enclosed helm areas.
- Supplied with 3 adaptors (08491) for installing 8000 standard modules.
What’s included
- 1 surface-mount enclosure
- 3 adaptors 08491
Compatibility and fit
This enclosure is sized for a 3-module layout in the Vimar Idea system and for 3-module special devices in the 8000 range. If your installation uses 8000 standard modules, the included adaptors support that fitment. Match the module family and module count before ordering, especially when replacing an older box or mixing parts from different Vimar lines.
Installation and setup
Mount the enclosure to a flat, solid surface where the wiring can be routed neatly and remains accessible for service. On boats, it is typically installed in the cabin, salon, enclosed pilothouse, or inside a protected console. Keep cable routing and penetrations tidy to maintain the intended IP40 protection and to avoid chafe from vibration.
Use on board
This is a good match for refits that add or relocate cabin switches, outlets, or control modules where there is limited depth behind the panel. It also works well for new builds that want modular electrical hardware in areas that stay mostly dry and protected.
Maintenance and care
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Avoid harsh solvents that can mark plastic surfaces, and check mounting tightness periodically if the installation lives in a high-vibration area.
