Overview

The Vimar VM13523 is an IP55 surface-mount enclosure for two Vimar Idea modules or two 8000 special modules, used to keep modular switches and outlets protected in splash-prone areas on a boat.

It is finished in RAL 7035 grey and comes with two 08491 adaptors for fitting 8000 standard modules. The body is plastic with insulating fill, which suits mounting on insulated panels and helps avoid exposed conductive surfaces around the module area.

For fit checks, the enclosure is rated for devices up to 68 mm wide, 83 mm high, and 65 mm deep.

Installation and setup

Mount on a flat, solid surface with room to access the modules and wiring. In exposed spots, route wiring with a drip loop before it enters the box and seal cable entries with appropriate glands or boots so the IP55 protection is maintained.

Compatibility and fit

This enclosure is for Vimar Idea modular devices and the 8000 special module footprint. Confirm your devices are 2-module width and stay within the maximum device size so terminals and cable bends do not interfere with closing the enclosure.

Use on board

It is commonly used for protected switch points for deck lighting, pumps, and small accessories near companionways, helm stations, wet lockers, and equipment spaces. It suits boats where electrical gear is exposed to occasional spray or washdown, rather than continuous immersion.
