Overview

The Vimar Idea KNX thermostat is a flush-mounted 2-module room controller for KNX systems, with ON/OFF ambient temperature control for two independent zones. It has one NO relay output rated at 4 A 24 V~, one programmable digital input, and one input for a temperature sensor compatible with Vimar 20432, 19432, or 14432.

For onboard projects, this thermostat makes sense in enclosed interior spaces where a KNX installation is already handling cabin climate and related automation. It includes local operation, a display, manual set point setting, and an IP40 thermoplastic housing, so it is better suited to protected wall panels and cabin bulkheads than exposed helm or deck locations.

Variants

This thermostat is offered in two front-color configurations within the same Idea KNX format.

Across both versions, the control function, KNX bus connection, 2-module footprint, relay rating, sensor input, programmable digital input, local controls, display, and IP40 protection stay the same. The visible change between the variants is the front color.

• VM16915.B, Color Ivory. This version uses a lighter visible finish that works well with pale switch surrounds and lighter interior panels.
• VM16915, Color Gray. This version uses a darker visible finish that blends more easily with gray surrounds and darker interior trim.

Installation and setup

This is a flush-mounted thermostat in the Vimar Idea modular format, so fit depends on using the matching installation layout for that range. In a boat refit or new build, it is best placed in interior accommodation spaces where the thermostat can stay shielded from spray, washdowns, and direct weather exposure.

Setup is straightforward for projects that already use KNX for climate and room control. The relay output handles ON/OFF control for heating or air-conditioning logic, while the separate sensor input allows the thermostat to work with a compatible remote temperature probe when the sensing point needs to be positioned away from the front unit.
