Overview

The Vimar Idea 16201 SICURY is a 2P+E socket outlet for Italian standard P11 plugs, rated 10 A at 250 V AC and intended for protected indoor locations (IP20).

It is a 1-module insert in the IDEA wiring device range and mounts flush in a compatible IDEA support and cover plate. The screw terminals make it straightforward to terminate conductors neatly, and the increased contact protection helps reduce accidental contact with live parts.

On board, this format is typically used for interior AC outlets fed from shore power or an inverter. Because it is IP20 and has no hinged cover, it belongs in dry cabins and protected panels, not in areas that see spray or washdowns.

Variants

This outlet is offered in two color options to match the rest of an IDEA installation.

The color changes between variants; the electrical rating, IP class, mounting style, and overall dimensions remain the same.

• VM16201.B: Color White (RAL 9001). Works well with light headliners, cabin liners, and white switch plates.
• VM16201: Color Gray (RAL 7015). A good match for darker panels where fingerprints and scuffs show less.

Compatibility and fit

Check that your existing hardware is in the Vimar IDEA modular system and that the outlet position is a 1-module opening. Plug compatibility is Italian P11 (10 A); if your boat uses Schuko, French, UK, or universal receptacles, this outlet will not accept those plugs without an appropriate adaptor or a different receptacle type.

Front dimensions are 24.8 mm wide and 50.1 mm high, with a 35.0 mm depth behind the plate, which is useful when planning shallow bulkheads.

Installation and wiring

Isolate AC power before work begins and use an appropriately rated breaker and residual-current protection upstream where required. Terminate to the screw clamps using marine-grade stranded conductors with ferrules where appropriate, and leave enough slack to avoid strain from vibration.

Maintenance and care

Periodically check that the outlet face remains tight in the frame and that the terminals show no signs of heat or discoloration. Clean with a lightly damp cloth and avoid aggressive solvents that can haze thermoplastics.
