Overview
The Vimar VM08140 is a 1-module Italian type P11 socket outlet (2P+E) rated 10A at 250V~ (50-60 Hz). It mounts flush in a Vimar 8000 Series modular system and gives you a grounded AC outlet where you need a tidy, panel-style finish.
On board, it makes sense in dry, protected interior spaces such as a cabin, saloon, nav station, or inside a cabinet. The device is IP20, so it is not meant for direct spray or washdowns. The body measures about 22.0 mm wide, 50.1 mm high, and 32.5 mm deep, which helps when you are working behind a thin bulkhead or inside a crowded electrical panel.
Sicury contact protection adds a safety barrier at the socket opening, and the halogen-free thermoplastic housing with a matt finish suits interiors that see vibration and daily use.
Key features
- Italian standard P11 outlet with earth (2P+E) for grounded AC connections
- Rated 10A, 250V~ at 50-60 Hz for common onboard shore-power or inverter-fed circuits
- 1-module format for Vimar 8000 Series flush-mount frames and cover plates
- Sicury enhanced contact protection at the socket face
- IP20 protection level for indoor, dry locations
- Screw terminals for conductor connections and snap mounting into the supporting frame
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with untreated, matt surface finish in white (RAL 9001)
- Approximate device size: 22.0 mm (W) x 50.1 mm (H) x 32.5 mm (D)
Compatibility and fit
This outlet is the Italian P11 format, so it matches plugs built to that standard and includes an earth contact. Confirm your onboard appliances and adapters use the same plug type before ordering.
It is a single-module mechanism that fits Vimar 8000 Series modular installations. Plan for enough clearance behind the mounting surface for the 32.5 mm device depth plus bending room for the conductors.
Installation and setup
Install it as part of the vessel's fixed AC system with power isolated at the main breaker. Terminate conductors on the screw terminals, then engage the mechanism into the supporting frame using the snap fasteners, and finish with the matching cover plate. Keep the outlet in a location that stays dry and ventilated, away from lockers where gear can strike the face.
After installation, check polarity and earth continuity, and verify that branch circuit protection matches the outlet rating and the connected load.
Use notes on board
This style of outlet is a good match for interior AC points used for small appliances and chargers, especially where you want a neat modular look in a panel or bulkhead. For areas exposed to spray, place it in a protected cabinet or inside an enclosure rated for the environment.
Maintenance and inspection
Periodically inspect the outlet face for heat discoloration, looseness in the mounting frame, and signs of moisture. If the vessel has been through heavy vibration or a refit, re-check terminal tightness as part of normal AC system inspection.
