Overview
The Lumishore 010-14455-00 is a 1 m power extension cable for Lux SL/SNL strip light installations. It’s used when the factory lead does not quite reach the power feed or driver location, so you can keep the run clean without cutting and re-terminating wiring.
On boats, this is especially handy when strip lighting is tucked under gunwales, behind toe-kicks, inside lockers, or under hardtop overhangs and the cable needs to pass through a bulkhead or chase. Adding the correct length up front helps keep connections accessible for service instead of buried in tight cavities.
Key features
- 1 m extension length for planning a predictable run between components
- Intended for Lux SL/SNL strip light power connections
- Keeps the installation tidy when the light location is farther from the power feed or driver module
- Helps avoid mid-run splices that can be hard to seal and troubleshoot later
- Useful for routing through cabinetry, liners, and wire chases while still leaving a small service loop
Compatibility and fit
This cable is meant for Lux SL/SNL strip lighting setups. Before ordering, confirm the connection type on your existing Lux SL/SNL harness and measure the real path the cable will take on the boat, including turns, drip loops, and any extra slack you want for vibration and service access.
Installation and setup
Route the extension where it will stay protected from chafe, heat, and standing water. When passing through bulkheads or metal openings, use a proper grommet or cable gland and support the run so it does not hang on the connection point.
If you need to pull the cable through a tight chase, take your time and protect the ends during the pull. Leave enough slack to disconnect and reconnect later without having to remove trim panels or lighting tracks.
Use cases on board
This extension makes sense for refits and new installs where strip lights are mounted under cap rails, in cockpit coamings, or inside cabin joinery and the power feed is a bit farther away. It’s also a good match when you are keeping electronics and drivers in a dry, serviceable locker while the strip lights live out at the edges of the boat.
Maintenance and care
During routine checks, look for signs of chafe along the run and make sure the connection stays clean and fully seated. If lighting behavior becomes intermittent, the first quick check is the connection point and the cable’s routing around hinges, hatches, and sharp edges.
