Overview
The Garmin 010-11413-10 is a GTEMP10-TH thru-hull temperature sensor that puts water temperature onto a NMEA 2000 network. It reads from -13 to 140 F and runs from 9 to 32 Vdc, so it fits common 12V and 24V systems. Power draw is about 0.24 W (20 mA at 12V), and the attached 1.8 m (6 ft) cable reaches a nearby backbone tee.
Install it to monitor livewell, baitwell, or the water you are fishing, then view the temperature on a compatible NMEA 2000 display. In multi-sensor setups, each sensor can be identified by location, and the temperature source, sensor instance, and offset can be adjusted from the NMEA 2000 device list.
Key features
- Thru-hull install supports hull thickness from 0 to 57 mm (0 to 2.25 in.).
- Mounting hole uses a 25 mm (1 in.) hole saw for the thru-hull opening.
- Water temperature sensing range: -13 to 140 F for baitwell, livewell, or outside water monitoring.
- NMEA 2000 plug-and-play connection; transmits temperature data (including PGNs 130312 and 130316) on the network.
- Wide power input from 9 to 32 Vdc with low draw of about 0.24 W (20 mA at 12V).
- Attached 1.8 m (6 ft) cable for a standard NMEA 2000 drop to the backbone.
What’s included
- GTEMP10-TH thru-hull temperature sensor with attached 1.8 m (6 ft) cable
- NMEA 2000 T-connector
Installation and setup
Choose a location where the sensor will not be jarred during launching, hauling, or storage, and confirm the hull thickness falls within the supported range. The install is a straightforward thru-hull pass-through: drill the 25 mm hole from outside the boat, fit the sensor, and bed it with marine sealant as you tighten it down.
On cored fiberglass, the core around the hole is relieved and sealed before final mounting so water cannot wick into the laminate. Metal hull installs call for cleaning and dressing the hole edges so the fitting sits properly and the sealant can do its job.
NMEA 2000 integration
This sensor is a NMEA 2000 device and connects like any other drop on a properly powered backbone with terminators. Once on the network, it shows up in the device list where you can assign the temperature source location, set an offset if needed, and manage sensor numbering when more than one temperature source is installed.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for anglers running a NMEA 2000 network who want temperature on-screen for tuning livewell and baitwell conditions or watching surface temperature changes while trolling. It also fits boats that already rely on network data at the helm and want a dedicated, thru-hull temperature point instead of a transom-mounted pickup.
Maintenance and care
During haul-out, check the fitting for any movement and inspect the bedding sealant around the flange. Keeping growth off the sensing area helps the reading respond normally, especially on boats that live in the water year-round.
