Overview
The Raymarine Quantum Q24C is an 18 in solid-state radome radar with CHIRP pulse compression for compatible Raymarine multifunction displays. It gives boaters a compact radar option for checking traffic, shoreline, rain, markers, and small targets when visibility drops or the run continues after dark.
The radome measures 541.0 mm in diameter and 209.5 mm high, with a weight of 5.6 kg, so it fits many hardtop, arch, and mast installations where a larger open-array radar would not suit the boat. It runs on 12 V dc or 24 V dc systems with a 10.8 to 31.2 V dc operating range, and the maximum range scale is 24 nautical miles.
Wi-Fi lets the radar connect without a separate data cable on compatible systems, while the cable-included configurations support a wired data run for installations where a physical connection is preferred. The IPX6 waterproof rating suits exposed marine mounting locations subject to spray, rain, and washdowns.
Key features
- 18 in Quantum radome radar with CHIRP pulse compression for close-range detail and longer-range awareness.
- Solid-state X-band transmitter with 20 W peak power output and selectable range scales up to 24 nautical miles.
- Works with either 12 V dc or 24 V dc vessel power, with a 10.8 to 31.2 V dc operating voltage range.
- Low power draw compared with many conventional magnetron radars, with 17 W maximum in transmit mode and 7 W in standby.
- Wi-Fi connection support reduces cable routing work on compatible Raymarine displays.
- Wired data configurations are available for helm layouts or installations where a cable connection is preferred.
- IPX6 waterproof rating for exposed radar mounting locations on powerboats, sailboats, RIBs, and fishing boats.
- Tracks up to 10 radar targets at the same time when used with compatible system features.
Variants
This Quantum Q24C range is offered in three cable configurations. The radar unit remains the same Quantum Q24C 18 in radome format, while the supplied power cable length and the presence or length of the data cable change by variant.
The 10 m cable options suit many small and mid-size boats where the radar is close to the helm or network backbone. The 15 m option gives more reach for installations with longer cable paths from a mast, arch, hardtop, or forward mounting point.
- E70210 includes a 10 m power cable and no data cable. This configuration suits a wireless radar installation where the display and vessel layout support Wi-Fi connection.
- T70243 includes a 10 m power cable and a 10 m data cable. This configuration gives the same cable length for power and wired data on shorter radar-to-helm runs.
- T70266 includes a 15 m power cable and a 15 m data cable. This configuration adds cable reach for larger boats or installations where routing takes a longer path through the vessel.
Installation and setup
The Quantum Q24C is commonly mounted on a hardtop, radar arch, mast platform, or suitable radar mount with a clear view around the vessel. Like any marine radar, placement matters: the scanner should be above head height, away from regular passenger movement, and positioned so structure on the boat does not block the radar sweep more than necessary.
Power wiring should be routed with marine installation practices in mind, including strain relief, drip loops where appropriate, and protection from chafe. For wired data versions, plan the cable path before mounting the radome so the connector route is practical and serviceable.
Compatibility and fit
This radar is intended for use with compatible Raymarine chartplotters and multifunction displays. It works well for skippers who already run a Raymarine helm and want radar coverage for coastal cruising, fishing runs, night approaches, fog, rain, or busy harbor traffic.
Before installation, confirm display compatibility, software requirements, mounting clearance, cable length, and the chosen connection method. Element displays use Wi-Fi connection with this radar, while some older Raymarine display families have specific connection limits.
