Overview
The Garmin 010-12784-01 is a trolling motor shaft mount kit for the Panoptix LiveScope LVS32 transducer. It clamps to the trolling motor shaft so the transducer follows the direction of the motor as you steer.
The shaft bracket uses an 8-degree cant to help reduce interference from the trolling motor barrel with the sonar beam. On 25 mm (1 in.) trolling motor shafts, a rubber insert is used to take up clearance and keep the mount stable.
Key features
- Mounts a Panoptix LiveScope LVS32 transducer on a trolling motor shaft so it tracks with steering.
- Adjustable clamping design fits a wide range of shaft diameters, including common Minn Kota and MotorGuide shafts.
- Shaft bracket includes an 8-degree cant to help reduce trolling motor barrel interference with the sonar beam.
- Orientation can be set for port or starboard mounting and switched between forward and down view without tools by turning the mount one click.
- Clamp-style mounting keeps the installation on the trolling motor and avoids drilling into the hull or transom.
Compatibility and fit
Compatibility is for the Panoptix LiveScope LVS32 transducer. Before tightening everything down, confirm you have clear space on the shaft for the bracket and that the transducer will not contact the lower unit, prop, trailer bunks, or the deck when the motor is stowed and deployed.
Installation and setup
Mount the bracket as far from the motor housing as practical, then secure the cable to the shaft so it cannot be pinched when the trolling motor rotates, deploys, or stows. Leave a service loop at least 25 cm (10 in.) long centered on the rotating joint and keep about 10 cm (4 in.) of slack above and below the joint so the cable can rotate freely.
When attaching the bracket to the transducer, fully tighten the shoulder screw; 2.5 lb-ft (3.4 N-m) is the recommended torque. After the first trip, recheck fasteners and cable routing, especially if the mount gets bumped during launching or trailering.
Use on board
This mount is a good match for bow-mounted LiveScope setups where you want the LVS32 to follow trolling motor steering while fishing structure and edges. It also works well on boats that trailer often, since the transducer stays on the trolling motor rather than living on a transom bracket.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the mount after use and inspect the clamping surfaces and hardware for loosening over time. Replace worn tape or tie points before they start rubbing the transducer cable jacket.
