Overview
The Garmin 010-12970-00 is a trolling-motor shaft mount for the Panoptix LiveScope LVS32 transducer that lets you position the transducer for Perspective, Forward, or Down views on the same bracket.
It clamps around the trolling motor shaft and uses an extension arm with marked positions, so the transducer angle is repeatable when you rotate between views. For 25 mm (1 in.) shafts, a rubber insert is used for a snug fit, and the shoulder screw is tightened to 2.5 lbf-ft (3.4 N-m).
Key features
- Supports three LiveScope viewing angles on one mount: Perspective (overhead), Forward, and Down.
- Shaft bracket can be installed on either the port or starboard side of a trolling motor shaft.
- Rubber insert included for 25 mm (1 in.) trolling motor shafts.
- Includes the correct longer shoulder screw and matching washers used with this mount setup.
- Stow-direction alignment uses P and S markings with matching orientation stickers to keep image direction consistent after stowing.
- Uses the included hex wrench; shoulder screw torque specification is 2.5 lbf-ft (3.4 N-m).
Compatibility and fit
This mount is intended for a Panoptix LiveScope LVS32 transducer installed on a trolling motor shaft. Plan the location so the transducer and cable will not interfere when the motor deploys or stows, and orient the bracket so the center screw hole on the bracket faces the front of the trolling motor.
The kit accounts for common stow orientations. If your trolling motor stows with the propeller to the starboard side, use the extension arm marked S and the sticker labeled STARBOARD SIDE. If it stows with the propeller to the port side, use the extension arm marked P and the sticker labeled PORT SIDE.
Installation and setup
Start by applying the correct port or starboard sticker to the transducer, then clamp the two-piece shaft bracket around the trolling motor shaft with the included screws. Use the rubber insert if the shaft diameter is 25 mm (1 in.).
Attach the transducer to the extension arm with the included shoulder screw and washers, then attach the arm to the shaft bracket the same way. Use only the hardware from this kit, since the shoulder screw is longer than the bolt that comes with the transducer.
Secure the transducer cable to the shaft and leave a service loop so the cable can move as you rotate the transducer between views. If needed, route the cable around the back of the shaft to avoid bending it too tightly.
After mounting, update your chartplotter and LiveScope system software, then set the LiveScope orientation to Auto in the sonar installation settings so the display follows the transducer position.
What's included
- Two-piece trolling motor shaft bracket with mounting screws
- Perspective mode extension arms marked P and S
- Orientation stickers for PORT SIDE and STARBOARD SIDE
- Rubber insert for 25 mm (1 in.) shaft
- Shoulder screws with flat and rubber washers
- Hex wrench
Use cases on board
Perspective view is useful when you are working shorelines, flats, docks, and shallow structure, because it shows an overhead slice in front of the boat while the trolling motor holds you on target. Rotating back to Forward or Down helps when you want to follow a lure or watch fish move off the edge without changing mounting hardware.
This mount is a good match for anglers running LiveScope on a bow-mounted trolling motor who want to switch views during a day of fishing and keep the transducer aligned after trailering and repeated stows.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the mount and hardware after saltwater use, and re-check fasteners after the first few trips and after any hard bumps. Inspect the cable path for pinch points at stow and deploy positions, and replace cable ties or tape as needed to keep a smooth bend radius.
