Overview
The Vimar VM16727 is a 2-module mounting frame for installing compatible modular devices on a 35 mm DIN (60715 TH35) rail, finished in RAL 7035 grey.
It is meant for switchboards and control enclosures where you are building out a clean DIN-rail layout. Module inserts fit from the back side of the frame, and the frame can be oriented horizontally or vertically to suit the space you have inside the cabinet.
Key features
- 2-module frame for installation on DIN (60715 TH35) 35 mm rail systems
- RAL 7035 grey finish to match common electrical enclosures and switchboard builds
- Thermoplastic construction that avoids corrosion concerns common with exposed metal parts
- Module inserts mount from the back side for straightforward assembly inside a panel
- Supports horizontal or vertical mounting direction for flexible panel layouts
Compatibility and fit
This frame is intended for use on standard 35 mm DIN rails (TH35 profile) found in most marine and industrial electrical cabinets. Confirm that your enclosure has enough clearance in front of the DIN rail for the installed modules and their wiring, especially where harnesses need to bend and route away cleanly.
If you are replacing an existing holder, check both the rail profile and the module count so the finished layout lines up with adjacent DIN-rail components and any panel labeling or covers used in the switchboard.
Installation and setup
Mount the frame onto the DIN rail in the desired position, then fit the modular inserts from the back side of the frame. After wiring, re-check that nothing is pushing the modules out of alignment and that vibration on the boat cannot work the assembly loose inside the enclosure.
For saltwater environments, this type of hardware is typically installed inside a protected cabinet or electrical box rather than in an exposed location. Keeping the enclosure dry and properly sealed matters more than the frame itself.
Use cases on board
This is a practical fit for boats using DIN-rail based electrical panels where modular controls or small devices are being organized into a tidy, serviceable layout. It also suits refits where you are adding new DIN-rail modules in a helm console, nav station, or systems locker and want the spacing to stay consistent.
Maintenance and care
Periodically inspect the panel for movement after heavy running or pounding and verify the DIN rail remains secure in the enclosure. Clean with a lightly damp cloth as needed and avoid aggressive solvents that can haze or soften thermoplastics.
