Overview
The Garmin 010-13228-04 is a stainless steel transom-mount bracket kit for mounting a LiveScope Plus LVS34 transducer on the back of your boat. It gives the transducer a fixed, supported position on the transom and includes a spray guard to help manage spray at the mount.
Installation uses a template for positioning, then 4 mm (5/32 in.) pilot holes, with five 20 mm screws used across the five mounting holes. Cable routing can go up and over the transom, or through the transom using a 32 mm (1 1/4 in.) pass-through hole drilled above the waterline.
This style of transom mount is not a breakaway bracket. The installation and operating notes matter on the water: impact with underwater objects can damage the bracket, transducer, and transom, and transducer performance is limited at speeds greater than 19 km/hr (12 mph).
Key features
- Transom-mount bracket kit sized for the LiveScope Plus LVS34 transducer.

- Five-hole transom mounting pattern that uses five 20 mm screws for better load spread on the transom.
- Includes a paper mounting template to help place the bracket and drill pilot holes accurately.
- Bracket-to-transducer attachment can be secured with a knob, with a bolt-and-washer option also used during assembly.
- Fastener guidance for final assembly includes tightening the main mounting bolts to 20 N-m (15 lbf-ft).

Installation and setup
Mount placement is the difference between clean sonar returns and constant aeration. Keep the transducer out of the propeller path and away from strakes, intakes, discharge ports, and anything that introduces bubbles or turbulence. On outboard and sterndrive boats, the typical placement is on the side of the downstroke of the propeller, often starboard.
When mounting on fiberglass, take care around the gel coat and use marine sealant on the transom fasteners. If you route the cable through the transom, keep the pass-through well above the waterline and seal it properly. After the boat is in the water, adjust the transducer so the element sits parallel to the waterline and stays submerged at rest.
Compatibility and fit
This bracket is for a transom installation of the LiveScope Plus LVS34 transducer. It suits boats where you want the transducer fixed at the stern rather than on a trolling motor or a separate pole. On twin-drive setups, the mounting notes allow placing the transducer between the drives when possible.
Use on board
This is a good match for anglers who run LiveScope Plus at idle and low speeds and want a transom location that stays put between trips. It also fits boats that are launched and stored often, as long as you mount it where it will not be struck on ramps, bunks, or lifts.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the mount area after saltwater use and check hardware for tightness as part of normal rig inspection. Inspect the cable route for chafe, and re-check any sealant points on the transom if you ever remove or re-position the bracket.
