Overview
The Vimar VM71306.AU is a flush-mount box with a rectangular 6 to 7-module format, finished in black, used behind device supports and cover plates for a clean recessed installation. The body measures 174 mm wide by 59 mm tall and gives about 50 mm of internal depth for wiring.
It has nine break-out inlets with knockouts sized for 20 mm or 25 mm conduit, so you can route cables neatly through a bulkhead or cabinet side and keep strain off the terminals. Switching equipment mounts by screws, and the box is supplied without screws and without a cover.
The housing is plastic that is halogen-free and tested to a 960 C glow-wire rating. The box carries an IP00 rating, so it is not a watertight enclosure and belongs in protected interior locations on board, behind the finished plate.
Key features
- Unified 6 to 7-module recessed box format for wall-plate installations
- 174 mm x 59 mm body size with about 50 mm internal depth for wiring space
- Nine break-out cable entries with knockouts for 20 mm or 25 mm conduit
- Rear entry option for bringing wiring straight in from behind the panel
- Provision for a dividing screen via the internal rack (divider sold separately)
- Connectable box body for building multi-gang runs with coupling accessories
- Support screw lugs have zinc plating to help keep threads clear during installation
- Halogen-free plastic with a 960 C glow-wire test rating; IP00 enclosure rating
Compatibility and fit
This box is intended for installations based on the Italian 6 to 7-module standard. Confirm your device support and cover plate are sized for a 6M or 7M opening and that your mounting surface has enough depth behind it to accommodate the box and cable bend radius.
Installation and setup
Lay out cable routing before setting the box, then open only the knockouts you need to keep the fit tight around conduit or looms. When wiring comes from behind, using the rear entry helps reduce crowding at the sides. Since devices mount by screws, make sure the correct screws are available for the support you are installing.
Use on board
This style of recessed back box is a good match for cabins, enclosed consoles, and interior joinery where switches and outlets need a flush finish and protection from bumps. Keep it out of areas exposed to washdowns or spray, and rely on the fitted device and cover plate for the finished front surface.
