• 02970 / Grey. A darker finish that suits switch panels and interior trim where lower contrast is preferred.
• 02970.B / White. A lighter finish that blends more easily with white or bright cabin interiors.
• 02970.M / Metal. A metallic look that works well where other control hardware has a brushed or metal-toned appearance.

Compatibility and fit

This unit fits Vimar modular installations that use a 2-module device layout. It is intended for flush mounting and pairs with Eikon, Arké, and Plana cover plates. Where the vessel already uses the Idea system, mounting frame 16723 is required.

Its IP20 rating matters on board. This is a thermostat for protected interior spaces such as cabins, enclosed salons, passageways, and utility areas with climate control access. It is not the right choice for open cockpits, exterior helm positions, or any mounting point exposed to spray, washdowns, or constant condensation.

Electrical and system integration

The control logic is straightforward, which helps when the boat's heating or air conditioning system calls for a simple wall thermostat rather than a networked controller. It supports one heater output and one cooler output, reads temperature, and works with an external resistance sensor.

This is a good match for boats using self-contained air conditioning units or zone-based AC systems that switch in ON/OFF mode from an interior wall control. It is less suited to low-voltage DC thermostat circuits or installations that expect digital communication over a marine network.
